Hey students! This is an example blog for my Practical Communications class.
In this space I can share my views on pretty much anything that interests me, from sports, movies, and hobbies to local events to my own political views. Anything and everything I care to discuss with anyone can be written down here.
Think of it as an online diary or journal (or if you'd rather, an online podium). That said, it is online, which means that anyone and everyone can view it. So if you don't want your innermost thoughts to become public knowledge, you might want to steer clear of a more personal blog for the time being and focus more on some specific interests or hobbies.
Of course, it's not just a place for typing. You can also post pictures here, either individually or to go along with your post (see the pic at the top of this post, for example). And you can even post videos. Check out this video of some Maize Quirks! performers:
Or you can even link to another webpage. Click on the link to check out this excellent video discussing the power of blogs: Blogs in Plain English.
And all is not complete without a little bit of feedback. That's how we know that communication has occurred. I would like everyone on this page to leave at least one comment on at least one of the following statements:
1) Wonder Woman '84 was an awesome movie that everyone should go see.
2) We should eliminate political parties so that people can just focus on the issues for each candidate.
3) Maize South should have off-campus lunch.
4) Dogs are over-rated. Cats are much better.
Well, that's about it ... oh, and don't forget to add your tags so others can find your blog!

I think that if you are a junior or senior we should be able to have open lunch because we are more mature then freshman and sophomores. I think that this is a fair choice because most juniors and seniors drive not very many lower class men do. Therefore, its more easier for juniors and seniors to leave since they have a car to be able to get to where they want to eat for lunch. Here at school there are not many lunch choices which makes me feel like i´m in a person and especially since we do not have open lunch which most high schools do.
I also think political parties are useless and we should vote on people instead of parties and factions but i can also can see how political parties could be useful for people who don't have the time or interest to research every person running for president and would rather just vote for someone who broadly wants the same thing as them.
I haven't seen Joker yet. Have any of you? What are your thoughts about the movie? Did you like it? Why or why not?
2) Political parties have created polar viewpoints in our country that paint every issue as black-and-white and then lump multiple beliefs on different issues together. The truth is that there is much more nuance to every issue in our culture.
3) I would love the option of off-campus lunch. I just don't know if it would work logistically (given traffic and lines at fast food restaurants) in the time-frame that's currently provided.
4) Cats are superior to dogs, because they don't need humans to regulate their bowel movements.
